Liver Fibrosis

BackgroundLiver fibrosis is a progressive disease due to the inflammation and injury in liver triggering complex cellular events that result in collagen deposition and disruption of normal liver architecture. Liver fibrotic changes can progress to cirrhosis, and likely at later phase, with complications such as portal hypertension.

Model: Bile duct stenosis/ligation/chemicals/carcinogen induced liver fibrosis

Standard study duration: 8-12 weeks

Clinical endpoint: liver function index, Liver biopsy, histopathology, B-ultrasound, MRI…

Features: Human clinical symptoms, biomarkers, fibrotic progression, cirrhosis and end-stage liver complications…
