Background: Liver cancer, also known as primary hepatic cancer, consists of several types of liver tumors. Among them the hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) and intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma (IHCC) are the most common and difficult-to-treat types of malignant liver cancers.
