Epilepsy
Background:Temporal lobe epilepsy (TLE) with hippocampal sclerosis is the most common type of drug-resistant epilepsy. Non-human primates are attractive models for studying the pathogenic mechanisms of TLE, with the goal of developing new drugs and interventions
Model: unilateral hippocampal injections
induced repetitive acute seizures
Standard study duration: 12-16 weeks
Clinical endpoint: video
analysis of behaviors, EEG, object retrieval test, brain MRI…
Features: TLE, temporal lobe epilepsy;
spontaneous recurrent seizures; EEG, electroencephalography; SREDs, spontaneous
recurrent epileptiform discharges
Status: Open for Co-development
