Sleep Apnea/Hypopnea
Background:Obstructive sleep apnea syndrome (OSAS) is a very common pathology with major cardiovascular, cognitive, and neurological consequences. But the pathophysiology of this disorder is still not fully understood, and there is a great need for animal models.
Model: upper
airway constriction/blocking induced OSAS
Standard study duration: 12 weeks
Clinical endpoint: nocturnal
polysomnography, sleeping index and time, CT
Features: The anatomies of the upper airway
in monkeys has the closest similarities with humans, induced sleeping and
natural sleeping analysis
Status: Open for Co-development
